Nipsey Hussle Laid to Rest in Los Angeles

Nipsey Hussle has been laid to rest.

A private burial was held for the rapper at the Forest Lawn Cemetery in Los Angeles on Friday, TMZ reported.

The burial comes one day after Hussle's family, friends and fans gathered together at the Staples Center for a Celebration of Life Memorial Service. The hours-long service featured emotional speeches from stars like Snoop Dogg and Stevie Wonder and memories from Hussle's longtime love, Lauren London, his sister, Samantha Smith, and parents Dawit Asghedom and Angelique Smith.

ET was on site at the memorial, where we spoke with Hussle's longtime idol, Master P, about the rapper's lasting legacy.

"Nipsey was a real soldier, somebody [whose] light is gonna spread around the world forever. He touched so many people coming from hip-hop," exclaimed Master P, adding that he worked with Hussle just days before his death. "He should have got this when he was alive, with all the work that he's done. But you know, just love and peace spread after his life is incredible because he's our angel now."

"When you go out, you want to go out like this, and so many communities across the world are supporting this, and these kids are going to know his life, the good and the bad, the dos and the don'ts, and he's going to save so many other lives," he continued. "We lost one to save millions. That's what I feel like today is about. I know he's smiling down on us right now, and his legacy is big."

Hussle, whose real name is Ermias Asghedom, was shot and killed outside his clothing store in South Los Angeles on March 31. He was 33.

The Los Angeles County District Attorney's Office announced on April 4 that Eric Ronald Holder Jr. was charged with fatally shooting Hussle and wounding two others in Los Angeles. The two other victims survived.
