Kelly Clarkson Says She Was Mistaken for a Seat Filler at the 2019 ACM Awards

Kelly Clarkson may have delivered two show-stopping performances Sunday night, but neither was the highlight of her evening.

Following the 2019 ACM Awards on Sunday, the 36-year-old singer took to Twitter to hilariously reveal that she was mistaken for a seat filler during the Las Vegas ceremony.

"The greatest thing by far that happened to me tonight was being asked to move because some guy thought I was a seat filler at the ACM’s tonight 🤣😂 #CantWinEmAll 💁🏼‍♀️," she wrote alongside a gif of The Rookie star Nathan Fillion looking confused. "Literally, it made my night because he was so serious, and I just politely said no hahaha!!"

When she wasn't in her seat, Clarkson took the stage twice Sunday night, singing "Don't You Want to Stay" with Jason Aldean and "Keeping Score" with Dan + Shay, the latter of which was nominated for Music Event of the Year.

Despite Dierks Bentley and Brothers Osborne beating out Clarkson and Dan + Shay for their song, "Burning Man," the trio still gave an unforgettable performance.

When ET's Nancy O'Dell caught up with Clarkson ahead of the show, she expressed excitement about performing with the duo and revealed that it'd be the first time they took the stage to perform that particular song.

"Honestly, the surprising part is Dan + Shay and I have yet to perform this song anywhere," she said. "This is the first we’ve been able to actually be in the same state and perform this song. ... So this is kind of cool. This is the first time we get to do it."
